Who isn’t on Twitter or Instagram nowadays? Some stars can’t stop tweeting, while other celebrities despite the hype, have decided not to cultivating their lives on Instagram or on different forms of social media, and what pictures look best of their day (*cough *cough the Kardashian).
[Twitter] gives me so much anxiety.
—Ashley Olsen to Vogue.com
We’ve spent our whole lives trying to not let people have that accessibility, so it would go against everything we’ve done in our lives to not be in the public.
—Mary-Kate Olsen, to Vogue.com
One of the main uses of Social Media Marketing is build brand-awareness and when you create a brand it is equally important to protect it. When you don’t use Social Media it is like not having a voice which can be dangerous because it opens yourself up to having others say what they want about you or your brand.
Seriously, just about every fan of both Full House & Fuller House on Netflix wants to see a cameo appearance by at least one of the Olsen Twins so please give the fans what they want.
It seems like everyone’s cultivating their lives on Instagram or on different forms of social media, and what pictures look best of their day.
—Emma Stone, to EPIX.com
I will never get Twitter. I’m not very good on [a] phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails, so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me.
—Jennifer Lawrence, to BBC Radio 1
Twitter fucks me over every day of my life. Because people go, ‘I’m sitting next to Kristen Stewart right now’ and then they show up. I see people on their phones and I just want to take these cookies and throw them. It’s like ‘Get off your fucking phone and get a life!’ I get so mad. It’s like you’re trampling on someone’s life without any regard. And it’s rampant. Everyone can do it now. Buy a camera and you’re paparazzi; get a Twitter account and you’re an informant. It’s so annoying.
—Kristen Stewart, in Flaunt
It has a huge impact on young women’s self-esteem, because all they ever do is design themselves for people to like them. And what comes along with that? Eating disorders. And that makes my blood boil. And is the reason we don’t have any social media in our house.
—Kate Winslet, in The Sunday Times
Once again, the burying your head in the sand approach doesn’t work. A better way would be to you the Social Media to educate youth about being a strong person and self-confidence.
Kids aren’t speaking to each other anymore. I was with friends of ours from Vermont and their two kids don’t have an iPhone or an iPad. They were 9 and 12 and were the most interesting young adults. Seeing other kids on their [phones] all the time, it makes me sad.
—Jennifer Aniston, in People
You know how people say #nofilter but you know there’s a freakin’ filter on their pic? Or maybe there’s a smidge of retouching going on but they’re lying and saying it’s all raw & real? Well, this morn, I decided to give you a taste of the really real me. I wanted to smooth out my dark circles so badly!!! But I was like, “Naw, Ty. Show ’em the REAL you.” So…here I am. Raw. And there YOU are…looking at me, studying this picture. Maybe you’re thinking, ‘Whoa, she looks ROUGH.’ And if you are, great! You deserve to see the REAL me. The REALLY real me. #RawAndReal
—Tyra Banks, on Instagram

I just don’t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over-information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world.
—Drew Barrymore, in Marie Claire UK
Instant information is part of human evolution which can also be managed by a professional team of social media marketing consultants or social media managers if you can’t handle it or find the technology frightening.
I don’t have Twitter and I don’t have Facebook, and I think that makes things a lot easier because if you go on Twitter and tell everybody what you’re doing moment to moment and then claim you want a private life, then no one is going to take that request seriously.
—Daniel Radcliffe, to SkyNews
I’m always surprised that certain actors have Twitter accounts. I guess they use it in a way that works for them. But I’d rather that people had less access to my personal life. If I could keep it that way, I’d be a happy lady.
—Scarlett Johansson, in Interview
It’s kind of like cotton candy: It looks so appealing, and you just can’t resist getting in there, and then you just end up with sticky fingers, and it lasted an instant.
—Julia Roberts, in Marie Claire
I’d rather have a rectal examination on live TV by a fellow with cold hands than have a Facebook page.
—George Clooney, at the Toronto Film Festival
It’s definitely harder to avoid it than it is to give into it. I think most people tend to give into it because it is easier, but I just can’t. I’m uncomfortable with giving into that kind of thing.
Social media should be embraced not feared. People usually give into “that kind thing” that makes life easier but sure obviously some celebs can’t and just have to do “things” the hard way.
